FAMILY PROGRAMS

Family Literacy Center Playgroups are designed for families with children 5 years old and younger. Sessions include story-time, crafts, music, and more! It is a great opportunity to meet other families with children the same age and make new friends! This program is funded by United Way of Lapeer County.

Kindergarten Readiness is a one-hour workshop for parents and caregivers with children 4-5 years old. We teach fun and re-creatable activities at home to help get your little one ready for kindergarten! Caregivers and parents will have fun, and gain resources, and knowledge about what their child needs to know before going to school. Children get to make crafts, play games, and will get to take home a free book as well!

Child Tutoring: Tutoring is for elementary children between grades 1st through 4th who need assistance in reading and/or math.  Kids will have one-to-one instruction with a trained tutor. Students gain confidence and skills through learning games, reading time, and skill-focused activities. Interested participants need to fill out and return the child tutoring application form below to the Family Literacy Center.

Family Learning and Game Night (F.L.A.G.) is meant to make learning fun and help parents/children build positive relationships. These simple yet effective make-and-take activities and games can be played anytime, anywhere! Join us at our next workshop and take your family game night to the next level.
