What our Students say about us:
“When I came in to get my GED, I was nervous and scared for my future. That quickly disappeared as I got to know my tutor and the FLC staff and found out how helpful they were. They were flexible for my schedule and poured in so much work to help me out!
Now as GED graduate I’m feeling so thankful and so much more secure in my future. I feel like I can pursue what I want to do in life. I feel like they opened doors and gave me opportunities that would have not opened otherwise.” - Lila
“When I first walked in to get my GED, I felt pure fear! I didn’t know what to expect or how long the process would take. Now, over a year later, I feel proud of myself, accomplished. Now I know I can actually complete something when I put my mind to it. It might take a while, but I can. I feel nervous and also excited for the next steps on my journey.” – Terra
“Honestly, the program helped me so much. I couldn’t have earned my GED without the support of Family Literacy Center. I definitely feel more confident in myself because of what I have achieved in this program. If I described my future in one word, it would be ‘hopeful’.” – Jillian
“When I first came in, I was very nervous. I wasn’t sure I was going to make it, but I knew I had to push on and do it one day, no matter how long it took. My tutor, Shawna, was awesome and kept learning fun for me. I failed the math test two times, and I felt like the world was ending. I had to push through that, and I GOT IT! The math was my highest score overall. My advice to other students who are starting the process is to do your duty as a person, finish strong, and have this under your belt. Don’t waste the opportunity!” - Damian
