After school Child Tutoring
After school one-to-one child tutoring is back in session! Tutoring is for children between grades 1st through 4th who need assistance in reading and/or math. Students gain confidence and skills through learning games, reading time, and focused activities.

Interested participants need to fill out an application to be considered.

Our Reading Buddy program is for students in 2nd grade who need assistance in reading and/or math. During the school day, students work one-to-one with a tutor to reach the students' goals. To apply for the program, the student needs a teacher recommendation and an application filled out and returned to the school. The Family Literacy Center in partnership with the Lapeer District Library are proud to offer a free 6-week summer tutoring program for Lapeer Area students going into 1st through 4th grade. During sessions, trained child tutors will work with students to help them improve and stay on top of reading and math skills.
