What does it take to motivate your child? What motivates you? Family Literacy Center will present a workshop called “The Motivation Breakthrough!” What does it take to motivate the “forgotten” student that traditional methods just don’t seem to reach? Educator Richard Lavoie draws on decades of teaching experience to demonstrate six basic motivational styles and strategies for inspiring the most withdrawn and reluctant student. In this lively workshop presentation for parent and teachers, based on his recent book the motivation Breakthrough: Six Secrets to Turning on the Turned-Out Child, Lavoie touches all the bases.
Some strategies are simple-using clearer, more precise language-while others take time, patience, and planning. Each one is well worth the effort. But be forewarned: Lavoie’s enthusiasm is contagious! This workshop will be held:
Wednesday, March 9, 2011 Marguerite deAngeli Library 921 West Nepessing Street Lapeer, MI 48446 6:00-7:30 p.m.
