WORKSHOP INFORMATION
Kids and Learning Styles
Not all great minds think alike! Everyone learns in different ways.
To put information into our minds we use 4 basic pathways.
Some of us use all of them, some use one or two. We all learn best if information
is presented to us using as many pathways as possible.
The four basic pathways are:
VISUAL - These learners have to see something to remember it well. They need to
look at a word to see if it is spelled right. Reading is a preferred method to get
information.
AUDITORY - These learners need to hear something to remember it. They need to
spell words out loud to tell if they are spelled right. Listening is a preferred
method to get information.
TACTILE - These learners need to touch and use their hands to learn and remember.
They need to write words down to tell if they are spelled right. These learners may
need to take notes or doodle while listening.
KINESTHETIC - These learners concentrate best while moving. They need to write
words or manipulate letters tiles to tell if they are spelled right. They learn better
while walking or moving.
