About The CORE Environmental Commitment

CORE Recycling Concepts (CORE) is committed to implementing environmentally responsible recycling solutions for empty ink jet cartridges, laser toner cartridges and cell phones. Our recycling programs offer the benefits of dealing with a company focused on true recycling processes while eliminating any potential environmental risk for those suppliers and other customers who require proper disposal for all collected cartridges. CORE’s recycling processes are designed to prevent and reduce the build-up of waste in our nation’s landfills and those across the world.

The CORE Advantage:

Empty ink jet cartridges, laser toner cartridges and cell phones are returned to our Recycling Center for sorting and grading. Usable cartridges are then reused within the production process for the production of remanufactured cartridges.

Cartridges that cannot be remanufactured due to damage, defect, or having been previously remanufactured are completely disassembled and separated by the following categories:

Plastic (wiper blades)
Aluminum (drums)
Corrugated (packaging)
Chemical solutions- non hazardous (dry toner)
Steel (screws and magnetic rollers)

Cartridge components that cannot be recovered or reused are forwarded to certified recyclers such as Waste Management for toner processing and Second Wind for aluminum, steel and corrugated reprocessing. In addition, CORE continues to look at innovative methods to further reduce waste going to landfills. CORE has joined efforts with several national companies to review machinery that will separate all empty cartridge parts and components and will yield finished raw materials for immediate shipment to plastics and metal recyclers and manufacturers. Surplus parts, collected through the disassembly process are also sold to other industry suppliers and re-manufacturers.
